For ZiZi and Mommy it is all about the journey. Every parent wants the process to be quick, but what happens if it takes a little longer?

Together ZiZi and Mommy explore the joys, challenges and frustrations when transitioning from being a baby into becoming a Big Girl. Potty Training is not a one-size-fits-all process, and everyone experiences it differently. Potty-Training Day celebrates that space in between where your little one is curious and ready and as a parent you are eager and scared for what a potty-trained baby really means.

Kids Lit Book Café Review:

Potty Training Day by Akilah Trinay and Ziana T Washington is a realistic look at potty training for your everyday parent.  This totally adorable story book is both fun and gently educational.  A great introduction for young children about to enter the potty-world!

Transitioning from a baby into a ‘big girl’ can feel daunting and scary, but this super-duper colorful and creative tale will help show young children that it’s OK for them not to get it right the first time.  Being able to make mistakes is a valuable lesson that I believe is often overlooked and could result in children’s heightened anxieties.  Therefore, I think Potty Training Day is a valuable asset in teaching and preparing children for their next big step.  Making potty-day a celebration is fun and inventive, and I highly recommend both this book and these ideas to all parents whose young ones are about to embark on one of their first huge milestones.

Akilah and Ziana have crafted a children’s book that is beautifully illustrated, flows with gentle rhyming and packs an important message.  This makes Potty Training Day a fun teaching tool that I am sure all parents will appreciate and toddlers will love. The illustrations are charming, and I fell in love with the images of Zizi straight away with her beautiful brown eyes and sweet smile.  A totally enjoyable and encouraging book that will capture children’s imagination, and encourage them on their own journey to being potty trained.

Potty Training Day by Akilah Trinay and Ziana T Washington is a delightful children’s book. A wonderful and helpful book to inspire children not be afraid when it comes time to sit on the potty. Highly recommended by Kids Lit Book Café Reviews. Book reviewed by TN Traynor for Kids Lit Book Café.
