Kids Lit Book Cafe’s Raving Review
If you want to see the world’s most interesting way to learn about the periodic table’s elements, then check out Sybrina Durant’s new book, Magical Elements of The Periodic Table: Presented Alphabetically by The Metal Horn Unicorns!
The Periodic Table, is 26 elements tthat are displayed in the form of magical unicorns. Each unicorn gets its very own page full of information about its elements. For example, Xena, the xenon-horned unicorn, is diamagnetic and monoatomic. Xenon is often found in blue car headlights and even in spacecraft propellants. Xena even has the power to see through solid objects! Pretty cool, right?
This wonderful children’s fun and educational book is extremely detailed, and it even includes several helpful charts, one of which explains what the different kinds of metals are (metalloids, transition metals, alkali earth metals, etc.) that will leave children entertained (and educated!) for hours. Every page is creatively illustrated and filled with numerous sections of element-related facts, and it is simply wonderful. Pumudi Gardiyawasam‘s illustrations are professional and utterly perfect for this book. The unicorns even have their own song, which readers can sing on their own or watch on YouTube.
Sybrina Durant expertly shows how mixing fantasy with science will help your child’s mind grow, not just with information but with imagination, too! Overall, this is an absolutely fantastic combination of make-believe and science for young readers and an amazing, fun and educational book for children which they will enjoy and learn from! Magical Elements of The Periodic Table: Presented Alphabetically by The Metal Horn Unicorns! By Sybrina Durant comes highly recommended- not only by Kids Lit Book Café – but also by many teachers, librarians and parents as well!! Book reviewed by Micah Giordonela for Kids Lit Book Cafe, an award winning children’s multi-genres & ages literary site.
